All hands on deck for RFU to negotiate law variations
The RFU will go into next week?s discussion of the experimental law variations
(ELVs) armed with a comprehensive evaluation of the effect of the laws
worldwide from more than 150 games. Although far from rejecting all elements
of the package produced by the IRB, it will express northern-hemisphere
concerns over the laws that permit the maul to be pulled down and place no
restriction on the numbers allowed at the lineout, with a minimum of two.
